The Dark Knight (2008)

Movies are better at ‘show’ than ‘tell’ and here we have a film that insists on telling us what it’s about almost every time a character opens their mouth… cut all that out and the film would still be far too long with cracking finale wasted as a second act ending.  Ledger does make a great villain and, like the film itself, we are left with the thought of what might have been.
